Wolfenstein 3D. As the town Wizard you are

explore the maze-like Towne Cemetery,
gathering healing potions, collecting gems
and weapons, and blasting Magic Missiles and
Zappers at an amazing variety of bizarre
monsters. Games can be saved at any point
during play, and if you're lucky enough to
find the Hourglass you can even stop the
flow of time. This game is filled with
secret passages, puzzles, treasures, and
playfully gruesome levels. The beautiful
scrolling EGA/VGA graphics and AdLib
compatible sound effects easily rival
similar commercial games on the market.

Ancients I: The Deathwatch (FARR-WARE; $24)
is a 3-D fantasy adventure game with
outstanding graphics. Your party of four
characters must explore the city of
Locklaven and ultimately enter the dungeon
to eradicate an unknown evil. You can visit
several shops, bartering for weapons and
food and drink. You can try your luck at the
Wheel of Despair at the Casino, or toss down
some ale at the Dragon Inn. Within the
Temple of Healing, the priests can heal your
character or even resurrect the dead. Only
the proper mixture of magic, wits, and brute
strength will prevail against the powers of
darkness. A mouse and 1.3+meg of disk space
are required.

3-D "Dungeons and Dragons" type graphic
adventure game. In your quest to become a
hero of Bandor, you will assemble a party of

Visit the armory to obtain weapons, and head
to the Training Grounds to improve your
fighting skills and increase your magical
knowledge. The Priests of P'Tah will offer
you healing (for a small fee), and valuable

Ale tavern. This is a very vast game, with

with an earlier version, which could be

swim, climb and sometimes fly through the
jungle, eating apples to stay healthy,
killing animated monsters, and collecting
keys to open doors and gems to open gates.
There are secret icons that transform Jill
into other creatures, such as birds, fish,
and frogs. With games of this quality, we
don't see how anyone ever gets any work done

encounter many other weird symbols along the
way. When you finish a level, you're
presented with a symbol. To win the game,
you must match the nine symbols with each of

$15) is a richly complex run-jump-explore

scrolling graphics. Animation is done at 60

The story behind Commander Keen is amusing
and entertaining. This is definitely one of
the top quality games in shareware. Requires

an excellent adventure, as you search the
creepy old house for the missing ingredients
to the magic potion. The graphics are really
nice, and scary sounds and actual talking
can be heard through your PC speaker. Sound
Blaster support is provided for enhanced
sound effects. Use of a mouse speeds game
play along, but is not required. EGA/VGA and
a hard disk are required.

Orion Odyssey (Dalrymple, Billy; $10) With
your jetpack firmly strapped to your back,
you must try to accumulate as many points as
possible while destroying alien beings and
finding and using useful artifacts. You must
also monitor your health status, fuel

extremely tricky, and inertia and gravity
must be taken into consideration. This is a
very challenging game with excellent
graphics. You will have to work pretty hard
just to find all the parts of the game.

is an incredible arcade/puzzle game. Only
you can save the world from suffocation by
opening all the oxygen-producing "Oxyds".
Through increasingly devious landscapes you
must open each Oxyd by matching patterns and
colors. Along the way you'll find umbrellas
to prevent you from free-falling to your
doom, dynamite and bombs to blast through
walls, laser cannons to disintegrate
objects, and much more. Features include
being able to play with a friend via modems,
sound card support, a timed game option, and
the ability to restart a level if you make
too many errors. This archive includes
Hercules, EGA, and VGA versions. The program
requires 512K EMS to use a sound card and 1
meg EMS to run the souped-up 256-color VGA
version. This is an excellent game, with
highly imaginative graphics.

series of games. It has 75 unique play

hazards to overcome, plus as many as 1000
creatures. Features include flowing lava,
spears, moving boulders, growing forests,
creature animation, moving walls, gravity,
diary screens, multiple game saves, a
permanent high score chart and many more.
Some levels are played from a bird's-eye
view, while others are played as if viewing
from the side. Color and graphics are not
required, but a color monitor will add a lot

fantastic 3-D maze adventure game. This is a
massive extension and improvement of
Moraff's Revenge. It has 16 levels of

surrounding dungeons. As you explore
different areas, a map of where you have
been is revealed. The outstanding graphics
are compatible with many video
configurations, from monochrome to Super

ASP; $25) lets you travel through a pyramid,
trying to avoid various monsters and traps.
You will find various objects throughout the
game that can be used, but you must figure
out what they do. This is a well-designed

not have any trouble figuring it out. The
program uses VGA graphics and sound and has
many interesting features. A mouse is
required and is used to issue all commands.
As the mouse cursor passes over an object
(planet, star, Klingon ship, etc.), a
description of the object appears. You move
the Enterprise by clicking on the desired
location.
